Few street races capture the imagination in the way the famous "Targa Florio" did. Run for the last time in 1977, it has joined the legendary Mille Miglia or Le Mans as one of the endurance classics. The length of the circuit, the variety of different surfaces and the hazards of traffic made it a course like no other. This route is the final iteration, the 72 km-long "Circuito delle Madonie" which featured more than 800 corners. It is characterized by both twisty mountain sections as well as the long straight at the Mediterranean sea.
