This is route 1 of 35 from Lannoo's motorbike book Europe, which says it describes the most spectacular motorbike routes in Europe. The Harz is Germany's most northerly central mountain range and a paradise for motorcyclists. You will find beautiful curves, enchanting valleys, spectacular hills, breathtaking views and fascinating sights.
Until the Middle Ages, the highest mountain range in Northern Germany was called 'Hart', which means mountain forest.
The most beautiful cities in this region are Goslar, Braunlage, Wernigerode and Stolberg and this 386km trip goes to these cities. The roads make you think you are driving in the Alps. You have to tackle so many spectacular curves here. At the end of the tour you will be treated to another special highlight: the wonderfully winding Kyffhauser mountains. The more than 30 curves take you to Kelba, where a breathtaking view awaits you.
The route is intended for 3-4 days, but you can also easily take a week.
